Massey Ferguson 65

The Massey Ferguson 65 was, at the time of its introduction in 1958, the very first tractor to deliver more than 40 horsepower. The tractor was originally equipped with the then unmatched Ferguson System, which was considered highly advanced for its time. According to the original instruction manual, this model provided answers to virtually all the demands and challenges faced by agricultural businesses of that era. The first version of the Massey Ferguson 65 came standard with a diesel engine producing an impressive 56.5 horsepower — an extraordinary figure for a tractor of that period.

The model was manufactured in the United States, Brazil, and Yugoslavia. The Massey Ferguson MF65 was equipped with built-in disc brakes, a powerful hydraulic lifting system, a differential lock, and a live power take-off (PTO). The three-point linkage featured interchangeable ends, allowing both Category 1 and Category 2 implements to be attached — a highly practical innovation at the time.

“High-clearance” versions of the popular model were also produced. These variants were particularly well suited for row-crop farming and other cultivation work requiring additional ground clearance.
