Ford 2000

Between 1962 and 1975, the Ford 2000 tractor was produced in Highland Park, Michigan, USA. This four-cylinder tractor succeeded the Ford 601 Workmaster and shared many similarities with it, while offering improvements in several areas.

The Ford 2000 is known for features such as its 4.7-liter oil capacity and a power take-off (PTO) driven through a 4x2 two-wheel-drive configuration. The first model was equipped with a liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine producing approximately 36 horsepower.

In a later generation, the Ford 2000 was fitted with either a 2.6-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine or a similar three-cylinder diesel engine. In addition, four different transmission options were available. Depending on the version, the tractor could also be equipped with power steering, an open operator platform, and a 49.2-liter fuel tank.

The Ford 2000 is often appreciated as a reliable and versatile tractor. Proper maintenance is essential, both for restoration projects and for daily use. When searching for parts, it is important to know that the four-cylinder version is closely related to the 601 Workmaster series, while the later three-cylinder versions feature significant technical differences.

Ford 3000

The Ford 3000 tractor was first introduced by Ford in the spring of 1965. This model was part of the 1000 series and was developed as the successor to Ford’s earlier “Hundred Series” tractors.

The Ford 3000 was standardly equipped with a three-cylinder, overhead valve (OHV), water-cooled engine producing approximately 37 horsepower. The model was available with several transmission options, including a 4-speed, 6-speed, and 8-speed gearbox, as well as the 10-speed “Select-O-Speed” powershift transmission.

For its time, the tractor was known for its advanced features. These included a live PTO, external hydraulic connections, a differential lock, and power steering — equipment that was considered highly advanced at the time.

Production of the Ford 3000 continued until 1975, after which Ford discontinued the model and replaced it with the Ford 3600 tractor.
