Deutz
In 1864, Nicolaus August Otto founded the world’s first engine factory under the name Eugen Langen & N.A. Otto & Cie.
Thirty years later, the first Deutz tractor was built in the United States. This machine was equipped with a 26-horsepower gasoline engine. It was not until 1927 that the first Deutz tractor with a diesel engine was introduced: the DEUTZ MTH 222. The introduction of this model marked the beginning of the mass production of so-called standard tractors.
Deutz continued to innovate over the years. In 1949, the company introduced the first tractor with an air-cooled diesel engine, and in 1955 it reached another major milestone with the production of its 100,000th tractor.
In the decades that followed, Deutz continued to develop new and highly popular tractors. Examples include the successful Deutz 06 series — the brand’s best-selling tractor range ever — and the various models of the AGROSTAR series.
