Massey Ferguson 135

In 1964, Massey Ferguson introduced the first model in the MF100 Series: the Massey Ferguson 135. Production of the tractor began in Detroit as the successor to the MF35. Between 1964 and 1975, three different variants of the model were produced. The Massey Ferguson 135 Deluxe was considered the flagship model at the time and was aimed at the premium market segment. The MF135 Special was designed to serve the so-called economy class, while the 2135 variant was developed specifically for industrial use.

Several hundred thousand Massey Ferguson 135 tractors were produced, most of them equipped with a 45-horsepower diesel engine. This two-wheel-drive tractor became one of the most popular tractors of its era. Even today, the Massey Ferguson 135 remains highly sought after on the second-hand market due to its outstanding reliability and simple mechanical construction. Another reason for its popularity is the familiarity many farmers gained with the model during their studies at British agricultural colleges.

The earliest models were fitted with a gearbox offering 6 forward gears and 2 reverse gears. Later versions were equipped with an 8-speed gearbox. The MF135 was also available with a Multi-Power option, providing 12 forward gears and 4 reverse gears. This version featured a hydraulic clutch system.

The Massey Ferguson 135 series was manufactured in both England and France. All parts offered are interchangeable between tractors produced in these two countries. However, the French-built models may feature minor differences, particularly in the bodywork panels. If in doubt, it is always advisable to check whether a specific part is suitable for the French version.
