Farmall USA. 06, 66 and 86
The Farmall 06 series from International Harvester consisted of a range of row-crop tractors powered by six-cylinder engines. This series was produced between 1963 and 1967 and offered significantly more power than the earlier four-cylinder Farmall 04 series. The growing demand for higher performance and increased pulling capacity led to the increasing use of six-cylinder engines.
Within this lineup, the Farmall 706 and 806 were introduced in 1963. Production of these models continued until 1967 and 1976, respectively. In 1965, the Farmall 1206 was also introduced, which was the most powerful tractor in its class at the time and remained in production until 1967. The 06 series was well received and proved to be a commercial success.
As part of Farmall’s product strategy, new series were typically introduced every few years. The 06 series was later succeeded by the 56 series, followed by the 66 series and then the 26 series. Between these main ranges, interim updates and improved models were also released, with each new generation generally offering increased power and improved technology.
In addition to gasoline and diesel versions, later series also included LPG variants, further expanding the versatility of the product range.
