Between 1946 and 1956, the Ferguson Company produced the iconic Ferguson TE20. This tractor was designed by Harry Ferguson and became his most successful creation. The TE20, better known as the “Little Grey Fergie,” represented a major innovation in agricultural mechanisation. While tractors of the time were often large and heavy, the Ferguson TE20 stood out for its compact size, low weight, and excellent manoeuvrability. It was also equipped with Ferguson’s innovative hydraulic three-point hitch system, which later became the global standard for tractors.
For many farmers worldwide, the Ferguson TE20 was the first affordable tractor that made it possible to replace horses and manual labour. Thanks to its simple engineering, reliability, and versatility, many examples are still in use today. It also remains highly popular among collectors and enthusiasts of classic tractors.
The Ferguson TE20 was offered in several versions, including the TED20 with a petrol/paraffin engine, the TEF20 with a diesel engine, and the TEA20 with a petrol engine.
