Fendt

In 1930, the first Fendt tractors were developed in Germany by Johann-Georg Fendt and his son Hermann Fendt. The tractor, which was designed to replace horses in the fields, was powered by a diesel engine. The name of this first tractor was therefore derived from this purpose: the Fendt Dieselross, with the word Ross meaning “horse.”

In 1995, Fendt introduced the highly successful continuously variable Fendt Vario transmission to the market. This began with the launch of the Fendt Favorit 926. The success of the series is evident from the fact that the 250,000th Vario transmission was delivered in 2016. From 2009 onward, all Fendt tractor series were equipped with continuously variable transmissions.

Fendt’s continuous innovation led to the launch of the FendtONE platform in 2019, first introduced in the Fendt 700 Vario series. This new platform connected the onboard and offboard worlds, allowing various office tasks to be carried out directly from the tractor and vice versa.
