David Brown (Engineering Limited), the English tractor factory, produced many different agricultural vehicles. For example the Implematic models, as well as the 900 series. A striking detail of the David Brown tractors is that they were all equipped with diesel engines. In addition, the brand was stubborn in that sense by not using hydraulic oil for the linkage, but oil from the gearbox.
At the time of the Second World War, the production of tractors was temporarily stopped and David Brown focused mainly on the production of aircraft towing machines (Taskmaster) for the British Army. Afterwards, the production of tractors resumed with the production of the VAK 1A, among others.
David Brown initiated successful collaborations with several other parties. For example, a collaboration with Ferguson resulted in the Ferguson-Brown; the first tractor with a three-point linkage. In 1973 David Brown started working together with Case, joining forces. However, this joining of forces also caused confusion as the tractors had the David Brown brand on the engine, Case on the nose and International Case on the sticker. This confusion resulted in a complete integration of David Brown and Case: Case IH. A brand that still produces machines and tractors today.
