International Harvester is a former American company, known for its agricultural machinery. In 1984, the agricultural machinery was merged into Case IH. The International Harvester 946 was produced from 1971 to 1977 in a 2WD or 4WD variant. The International 946 tractor is powered by the International Harvester D310 4-stroke 6-cylinder water-cooled diesel engine. The tractor comes standard with a maximum power output of 85 hp (63.4 kw).
The International 1046 was produced in several versions in the 1970s. Like the 946, the tractor was offered with rear-wheel drive as well as four-wheel drive. Unlike the 946 model, the six-cylinder engine used here had a long stroke. For cost reasons, the IHC 1046 also did not have its own gearbox. A year before the end of production, IH increased comfort with the newly developed Comfort 2000 cab.
The International 1246 was produced in Germany and France from 1972 to 1979. This model was the largest model of the 46 series with a power output of 120 hp. The International 1246 was the first IHC tractor with a turbocharger. This model was the top model of the International Harvester Company in Germany and France. In Germany, the IHC 1246 was offered with four-wheel drive as standard. The rear-wheel drive version was for export only. In 1979, the 1246 was taken out of production and replaced by the 5 hp more powerful International 1255.
